YOUTHSTAGE is a performance based class in which students work with professional directors, set designers, choreographers and other artists toward a complete run of shows produced for the public. YOUTHSTAGE is an intense but rewarding program that will further advance students talents taking them from audition to the final curtain call. Tuition varies based on production and licensing costs of each show. Rehearsals are typically Thursdays 4:30pm - 7:30pm and Saturdays 9am - noon with more rehearsals closer to the opening night.

Frequently asked questions.

YOUTHSTAGE COMMITMENT
YOUTHSTAGE requires both students and parents to be committed to the program. Students should plan on attending all rehearsals and performances unless otherwise noted or discussed with Stage Manager/Director. Each YOUTHSTAGE production involves between 60 - 80 hrs of instruction. Students are expected to rise to a high level of performance and commitment. Every Student and Parent are expected to read our YOUTHSTAGE handbook.
Read the Handbook online here or download the PDF version here.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT
YOUTHSTAGE is a complicated and demanding commitment for students/parents and The Children’s Theatre. The most successful productions include parent/volunteer involvement. There are 3 main areas of need to complete the process.

Production hair and makeup. Volunteers are needed to assist students in hair and makeup.

Production Saturday Lunches/Cast Party. 2+ parents are needed to organize lunches/cast party which will be held between performances on the Saturday show.

Marketing the show. The Children’s Theatre needs your assistance in “getting the word out” about the production. Both tuition and ticket sales fund YOUTHSTAGE.

Audition Results
If your name is listed, then you have been admitted into the Youthstage program for this production. If your name is not listed, we encourage you to continue to train in classes and prepare upcoming auditions.

First Class begins Saturday March 3rd at 9:30am
The first class is similar to a callback. Students should be prepared to read from the script and participate in character exercises. Some character roles may not be given immediately, while some may. Characters not assigned will be assigned over the first weeks of rehearsals. This gives the Director an opportunity to work with the students and their abilities prior to casting.

A link to pay online with a credit card will be available on the cast list page along with registration and the Youthstage handbook that must be read by parents and students.
